Today we are exploring an abandoned house in Dayton Ohio. Another urbex adventure and some very weird history. Built in 1884 on land owned by Willam Huffman, W.P. Huffman. The Huffman Family was key to the industrialization of Dayton Ohio. This beautiful victorian era red brick house built during the victorian era has beautiful fireplaces, a claw foot tub, and spectacular woodwork. While I have passed this house many times over the year, this time I noticed that many of the original windows were still in place. This made me wonder what was inside. Boy were we surprised to find possessions from the Goss family that likely lived here in the late 1800s. Orren & Della Goss lived here for many years. Hard to tell when they moved in. Orren passed in 1969 and Della in 1990. Both likely passed in this house. Odd enough, their family items have been left here for the last 32 years unclaimed. I believe the last resident was Mary Ellen Singleton who died in 2021 and was related to Jan Singleton. The house is a piece of Dayton Ohio History and should be saved.
