Situated on 26.56 acres on the East Shore of New Haven, Connecticut, the beautifully remodelled Raynham Estate recently sold for $2.6 million. The property hit the market in June for $2.25 million. The main house was built in 1804 as a Federal farmhouse and extensively remodelled into a Victorian Gothic residence in 1858. According to listing details, the property has 950-feet of contiguous frontage on Townsend Avenue and includes ownership of a portion of Raynham Hill Drive. There’s an intermittent stream and flagged wetlands totalling roughly 2.56 acres in the central portion of the site. The land west of the stream is mostly open and level. The land east of the stream is a wooded hillside with elevations ranging from 65 to 145-feet. Even though the property hasn’t been actively farmed in recent years, there are many visible remains of its agricultural past including numerous agricultural outbuildings. The Raynham Estate was on the market for $2.25 million with Joanna Dresser of LandVest Real Estate. Photography and information found on the agent’s listing.
