Nestled in the enchanting town of Jim Thorpe, often called the “Switzerland of America,” the Harry Packer Mansion Inn dates back to 1874 when it was built by Asa Packer, the founder of Lehigh University and the Lehigh Valley Railroad.

The elder Packer then gifted the mansion to his son, Harry, upon his marriage. By the time Robert and Patricia Handwerk, bought the mansion in 1983, it was in dire need of repair.

However, the couple restored the mansion to its former glory, opening it as a bed and breakfast, where guests feel like royalty.

Stay in the main mansion where each Victorian room features a queen-sized bed, a private bath, air conditioning, and free WiFi.

Or, request a room in the charming Carriage House, which boasts two suite lofts and four luxurious deluxe rooms, all with queen beds and private baths.
