c.1901 North Carolina Queen Anne Victorian Home For Sale $105K

This North Carolina Queen Anne Victorian home for sale sits on a corner lot opposite two impressive brick churches and is a short walk to downtown.  It is known as the Dickens-Webb House and was listed on the NRHP in 1998. The five bedroom, four bath fixer upper was once the home of prosperous store owners in town who had a large family. I can imagine them rocking on the wrap-around porch watching people on their way to town. Hardwood floors, lovely staircase, fireplace mantels and built-ins are original features, but some unfortunate alterations have been made over the decades. A two-car detached garage and a carriage house sit on the quarter acre lot.

Per NHRP, “the Dickens-Webb House is perhaps the town’s most impressive illustration of the preference among leading merchants of the first half of the 20th century for continued used of asymmetrical Queen Anne forms finished with the restrained elegance of Colonial Revival elements such as pedimented gables and dormers, classical (usually Tuscan) poch columns and Palladian-influenced windows.”
