This beautiful old in town house was built for a moderately wealthy planter family in the late 1800’s. The house was built between 1880-1890 in the Victorian period in a Queen Anne style. Originally featured a large wraparound porch and even a small Juliet balcony/ small second story veranda. All that’s left now is a doorway on the front too the ground a story below. After remaining in the same family for nearly half a century the house was sold too new owners after the Great Depression. Supposedly a married couple fixed the house up in the 50’s and would live there for the remainder of there years. Sadly sometime in the late 1980’s the final owners passed away and ever since then the house has been crumbling away for the past 30-40 years. Now with most of the roof gone from a recent storm a couple years ago, the house is in its final days sadly. Especially heartbreaking seeing all the beautiful architecture and ornate woodwork fading away.
