Corporate housing tycoon Howard Ruby and wife,actress Yvette Mimieux Ruby, have listed their Italianate estate in Bel Air, California for $45 million. First time for sale in almost a generation, “Il Sogno” dates to 1928 and has been owned by Howard since 1979, according to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported on the listing. One of the great “true” Bel Air estates, the 0.96 acre property includes a grand classic villa featuring high beamed hand painted ceilings, plaster walls, stone carved fireplaces, and an array of incredible world-class details. Grand rooms with beautiful scale overlooking spectacular views and gardens throughout the estate. The interiors were designed by Kalef Alaton, one of the 20 greatest designers of all time according to Architectural Digest, using artisans and craftsman from the Amalfi coast to create an authentic Italian villa.
